In 'The Deer Hunter' a scene showed a REAL RUSSIAN ROULETTE game!
During the famous Russian roulette scenes of the film De Niro requested one live round to be put in the gun! He wanted this to happen just “to increase the intensity of the scene”. More surprisingly the director allowed it!
The director was, of course, very worried about an actor potentially shooting themselves, so he obsessively checked the gun after each shot to make sure that the bullet was not in the next chamber.
