Jamie Hyneman is known as The Walrus by co-host Adam Savage and other members of the MythBusters crew for his mustache. He has many job titles under his belt including certified dive master, boat captain, machinist, animal wrangler, pet store owner, wilderness survival expert, chef, and even a linguist.
He actually graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Russian Linguistics. He has since also received an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree from Villanova University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and an honorary doctorate from the University of Twente in Enschede, Netherlands for his role in popularizing science and technology. He currently co-hosts MythBusters and is the CEO of the company M5 Industries, a special effects business.
He’s been married to Eileen Walsh, a science teacher, since 1984 and actually left home at the age of 14 to hitchhike across the United States. Hyneman has quite the diverse repertoire of skills under his belt and has found great success in science and technology.
