Cucumbers are fruits!

Cucumbers are part of the gourd family, but botanically speaking they are considered a fruit and not a vegetable. It actually originates from India, though it is now grown virtually worldwide. Cucumbers are mostly composed of water, but they have some wonderful health benefits.

A single cucumber has 10 percent of your daily vitamin C requirement. Fiber is an essential part of a healthy diet. Eating enough dietary fiber can help lower your cholesterol, combat high blood sugar and prevent digestive issues. Cucumbers have about 2 grams of fiber in each of them. They are also low in calories, so they are a great snack and especially great for trying to lose weight.
