The Catholic Church considers the puffin bird to be a fish!

For some, the period of Lent is a time of abstinence, reflection, and minimum indulgence. For others, it’s a time to find loopholes. You see, salted fish is the only meat dish allowed to be consumed at the time. However, because nobody wants to eat salted fish for 40 days non-stop, the Catholic Church has made some slight changes to the definition of “fish.”

The puffin, for example, can now be considered a fish because of it's ability to swim in the sea. Additionally, beavers, turtles, and other aquatic animals can be considered fish and therefore kosher to enjoy fresh served during Lent.
