A robber's body was mummified and used as a mannequin at an amusement park!

Elmer McCurdy was an Oklahoma outlaw whose mummified body was thought to be a mannequin and was used as a prop at an amusement park!

During a filming at Queens Park (Longbeach, California) of a television show, a crew member was moving the mummified body (which was thought to be a wax mannequin) and when the mannequin’s arm broke off, he discovered he was actually moving a human body!

During the medical examination, the Doctor looked at the mummy’s mouth for more clues and he was surprised to find a 1924 penny and a ticket to a museum of crime in Los Angeles! The ticket and archieved newspaper helped the researchers to identify the body as Elmer McCurdy.

Apparently the 'mummy' died from a gunshot wound in the right anterior chest. He was finally buried in Oklahoma on April 22 in 1977, and the state medical examiner ordered that two cubic yards of concrete was to be poured over the casket, so that his remains would never be disturbed again.
