This years Quidditch World Cup will host 10,000 people, 80 teams and 4 countries!
The World Cup will be hosted at Austin Tindall Park in Kissimmee, Florida, and will include 1,600 players, including teams from as far away as Italy and France. In 2007, the first World Cup featured 2 college teams and was hosted at Middlebury College in Vermont. Today the IQA has over 225 official member teams from 45 US States and 5 other countries. An additional 1,000 teams are starting up all over the world and on their way to officially joining the league. The sport is a co-ed, full-contact blend of rugby and dodgeball, with 4 balls and a human snitch, with full contact hits and tackles. Last year's World Cup featured over 250 games played on 9 pitches in 2 days, and the finals were held in New York City’s Icahn Stadium.
