Imagine you’re a caterpillar that’s about to turn into a beautiful Luna moth. You spin your cocoon and spend two weeks in it just waiting to get your wings and fly. When the day finally comes, you come out and you notice that your wings are pretty small, so you have to pump bodily fluids through them to make them bigger. Then, your wings are pretty soft so you have to wait for them to harden before you can fly away.
Sounds like a pretty exhausting 2 hours doesn’t it? If you think that after you deserve a nice meal… you’d be in for a rude awakening when you realize that one of the things that changed about you from caterpillar to moth is that you don’t have a mouth anymore! Turns out, the only purpose of your adult stage is for you to mate and then die from starvation after about a week.
