Pirates of the Caribbean used to have real skeletons!
If you're not familiar with the Disney Ride, you're probably familiar with the blockbuster starring Johnny Depp that was based on the original ride. Pirates is one of the first attractions in Disneyland. It opened in 1967, and has been a huge hit in the park ever since.
When the attraction opened in 1967, the imagineers thought that the fake skeletons of the time were too fake-looking for the attraction. They instead used real skeletons obtained from the UCLA Medical Center. When technology caught up to them, the skeletons were returned to their countries of origin and given a proper burial.
