There are always a lot of accidental tardies when we switch the clocks for daylight savings time. However, we tend to not blow up prematurely. 1999 proved to be a rough daylight savings time for Palestinian terrorists, though. Israel had insisted on a premature switch from daylight savings time to accommodate a week of pre-sunrise prayers.
The Palestinians refused to live on “Zionist” time. So, two weeks of scheduled havoc took place and no one knew the correct time. On September 5th, two coordinated car bombs exploded in transit in different cities killing 3 terrorists. At first, it was thought that the bombs exploded prematurely due to amateur bomb making skills.
After investigating it, they found that the bombs weren’t on the right time schedule. They’d been made in a Palestinian controlled area and set to detonate on Daylight Saving Time. The confused drivers had switched to standard time, and hadn’t asked which clock the bombs were on. So, they met their doom transporting the bombs.
