If you grew up in the 90’s, chances are you experienced the ever so frustrating book “Where’s Waldo”. You’d think the book would be simple, and that Waldo would be easy to find. However, he blends into his surroundings perfectly although he is almost always found in plain sight.
However, this child’s book has been deemed inappropriate by the American Library Association. While majority of the population just sees a cartoon drawing that is hiding the location of Waldo, the ALA has noticed a few things that are “inappropriate and seditious imagery”
The reason behind these claims is that in the 1987 edition of the book there are topless sunbathers, supposedly gay lovers, and characters holding up the rocker and sign. While the people that are complaining are looking for minute details to deem inappropriate the rest of us are struggling to find Waldo. As a result of these claims by the ALA, you can’t find a “Where’s Waldo” book in some schools in the United States.
