Radiohead wrote a few songs by pulling lyrics out of a hat!

Radiohead is one of the most influential rock bands to come out of the 1980’s with over 18 awards won and 64 nominations. However, the band has another achievement that not many people are aware of. On the album Kid A, many songs were written through a very odd process. Thom Yorke would pull lyrics out of a hat and mash them together to make a song.

After he pulled the lyrics from the hat, he refused to sing them as they were for unknown reasons. Instead, he would recite the words in a rhythm and Jonny Greenwood would change the pitch in Thom’s voice to form a melody! Here are some quick facts about the album: -Kid A was the fourth studio album that Radiohead had released. -It was released on October 2, 2000 and is ranked on Rolling Stone’s top 100 albums of the decade as number one! -The album was released with no singles, a decision which was later regretted by lead singer Thom Yorke.
