You can't store too many pistachios together or they might spontaneously combust!
Pistachios have a tendency to self-heat, so storing too much of them together might be dangerous. It is recommended that pistachio kernels should not be stowed together with fibers or fibrous materials, because the oils accumulated by the pistachios might promote self-heating and spontaneous combustion.
Another thing that is important is that pistachios have to be as dry as possible, because just a little bit of moisture can start the self-heating process. To prevent it, you might also want to transport pistachios in low temperatures so that the process doesn't start and you don't have a bunch of fiery nuts in your hands.
