When most people think of a butler, they think of a 19th century profession that disappeared long ago. However butlers, and their service of butlering, is still in good practice. The most common duty of a butler is to oversee a household staff and to have intricate knowledge of high social etiquette.
The knowledge is so precise and confusing that any butler hoping to succeed must study for several years at one of the many butler schools throughout Europe. After training, they are hired by wealthy employers and can expect to work 60 hours or more every week.
The work is difficult and tiresome, yet they make good money, usually $60,000 in their first year and eventually over $100,000!
