The Pope has said that Jesus was born between 2 and 7 years BC!
In a new book published by Pope Benedict XVI, he speaks about the nativity of Jesus. One of the most interesting facts is something that historians have long said, but not many people know: Jesus wasn't born on December 25, year 1 AD. A monk in the 6th century made a miscalculation, the real date is somewhere around 2 and 7 BC!
That 6th century monk invented the concept of BC and AD to depart from the calendar at the time, which was based on the reign of a Roman emperor that had persecuted Christians. In that book, the Pope also says that the traditional nativity scene isn't quite accurate: there were no animals around Jesus, for example.
