Basically the more you weigh, the more you pay if you're an employee at Whole Foods. For those who don't know, Whole Foods is one of the biggest and best known healthy supermarket chains in the United States. They have an interesting employee discount program that's designed to motivate their employees into getting in shape.
The biggest discount you can get as an employee is 30%. For this, you have to have low blood pressure, can't smoke, and have low blood pressure, cholesterol and BMI. The program is voluntary and you get a free screening when you enlist.
Employees who don't participate get a 20% discount, while enrollees are sorted into 4 groups: platinum, gold, silver and bronze with discounts ranging from 22 to 30% .
Some people thought that the program was ridiculous and that it was discrimination. Others think it's a win-win for employees. What's your take?
