Here's a thing I bet you didn't know about Joel McHale of Community and The Soup fame: he was born in Rome, Italy. Although he didn't live long there, because he soon moved to New Jersey, where he spent his early childhood. He then moved to Seattle, where he graduated from High School and then became a cast member of a short-lived sketch show called Almost Live in 1984.
Since that show didn't have much life in it, he went to the University of Washington from 1991-1995, where he completed the Professional Actors Training Program and a Bachelor's in History. While he was there, he also walked on to the Washington Football team, where he was a backup tight end. The Huskies managed to go the Rose Bowl game in 1991, which meant that Joel earned a Rose Bowl ring!
