The pavement at Disney World’s Epcot has a pink hue to it to make the grass look greener!

Epcot opened in 1982 and is the second of four Disney theme parks. It covers 300 acres and is dedicated to the celebration of human achievement. Specifically, it celebrates technological innovations and international cultures. The park is represented by a huge geodesic sphere, which is also a main attraction of the park. The engineers of Kodak designed the pavement at Epcot to have a pink hue, because it makes the grass look extremely green. Epcot is actually an acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

It was to be a utopian city of the future planned by Walt Disney. The park began with a lack of vision, though. The engineers weren’t sure what theme to give it and at one point it was going to be a futuristic theme. Epcot is designed as an hourglass shape with two different areas. It’s patterned after exhibits found at world expositions.
