Pacific Rim's Gipsy Danger is misspelled on purpose!
First thing’s first. “Who or what is a Gipsy Danger”, you ask?
It’s one of those giant fighting robots that battle the aliens known as Kaiju in Guillermo del Toro’s movie Pacific Rim. This movie is one of the best movies that Guillermo has done, with a lot of action and a great plot.
A lot of people wondered however why Guillermo del Toro decided to name Gipsy Danger that way and not Gypsy Danger. As it turns out, Pacific Rim's "Gipsy Danger" is not spelled "gypsy" because it's named after the de Havilland Gipsy, a plane engine invented in 1927.
It has nothing to do with the gypsy culture.
