The year was 1996, and Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris arrived to Alcatraz ready for their PR party in order to celebrate the premier of their brand new film, "The Rock". Eager celebrities and members of the paparazzi excitedly mingled with the stars of the film. It was a beautiful day...for wind surfing.
A biplane was flying in the air dragging behind a banner that read "Get Ready to Rock". Jeff Brunch, a 35 year old Windsurfer was. He sailed to the island wearing a wing-collar tuxedo and bow tie. He landed on the North East side of the island, and made it into the party. He claims he had a cocktail with Sean Connery before he was picked up by Park Rangers and charged with trespassing on federal land!
Jeff Bunch claims that he was just going to take a look and then be on his way, but he was caught up in all the excitement so he stayed a little bit longer than he should have.
