Clik here to view.Blue’s Clues premiered on Nickelodeon in 1996 and ran for ten years. It was originally hosted by Steven Burns, but he left the show in 2002 to pursue a music career. There were rumors that he had overdosed on drugs and a replacement stepped in to fulfill his role.
Not true. Later, Donavan Patton took over the role that Burns walked away from. The show integrated concepts of child development and early-childhood education research with innovative animations to create a show that would capture the attention of preschool aged children. The show became a cultural phenomenon within months!
Literally within 18 months of its premier, virtually 100 percent of preschool aged children’s parents knew about the show. That is unprecedented. To give you an idea, that kind of exposure is equal to that of Sesame Street, which has been on air for 30 years, and Blue’s Clues had only been on for 18 months!
