80% of Soviet males born in 1923 died in WWII.

Not surprisingly, Russia was the country with the highest WW2 causalities, with over 21 million. Here's some other interesting facts about WWII:

Dr.Josef Mengele (the “Angel of Death”) used about 3000 Romany and Jewish young twins for painful genetic experiments. Only 200 of those children survived.

Johovah’s witnesses were also persecuted and murdered in German concentration camps.

The acronym BAM stood for “Broad-Assed Marines.” Aka: female soldiers in the U.S. Marine Corps. The women however, referred the men as HAMs, for “Hairy-Assed Marines.”

The Nazis stole the Harvard “fight song” to compose their Sieg Heil march.

Hamburgers were called “Liberty Steaks,” as it was thought to be too German-sounding of a word.

Adolf Hitler’s nephew- William Hitler- was in the U.S Navy during the war. He changed his name after the war.
