The Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombs were NOT the most destructive bombings during WWII!
The Firebombing of Tokyo is the name given to a series of air raids that the US Armed Forces conducted on Japan towards the end of World War 2.
At first the United States mounted small-scale raids on the city starting on 1942.
However, on March 9 and 10 of 1945, they mounted a large-scale attack that is considered to be the most destructive bombing raid in history.
It was more destructive than the awful Hiroshima or Nagasaki atomic bombings.
Although those might have the most publicity because of their nuclear nature, the Firebombing of Tokyo played a large part in demoralizing the Japanese.
