Ken Jeong burst onto the comedic scene as the crazy yet hilarious Mr. Chow in "The Hangover." Before his breakout though, Jeong was a doctor - internal medicine to be exact.
He always wanted a comedy career, but didn't really pursue it until tragedy struck his family. Jeong's wife, Tran, was diagnosed with breast cancer soon after giving birth to their twin daughters.
As she went through treatment, Tran continued to encourage her husband to pursue comedy. While she was still fighting the cancer, Jeong received the offer to be in "The Hangover."
He considered turning it down but Tran wouldn't hear of it. Jeong says he channeled all his anger about his wife's illness into the role.
Thankfully, Tran beat the cancer. Jeong says the day she was pronounced cancer free was the best day of his life. She lives on to mother her daughters and practice medicine herself as a family medicine physician.
