Riley B. King was born in 1925 and became famous by his stage name B.B. King as one of the most famous blues artists of all time. Rolling Stone names King No. 6 on the 100 greatest guitarists of all time list. He is often nicknamed “The King Of Blues” and even at his age continues to play over 100 shows a year!
King has always been famous for his incredible energy. In 1956 it was recorded that he appeared in 342 shows! This is considered especially amazing when some artists perform only once or twice a year. Born in a small cabin in Mississippi, King began singing in a local gospel choir. He was noted for his talent and eventually picked up the guitar, which he excelled at almost immediately. He began recording songs in 1949 and eventually went on to win 15 Grammy awards!
