When most people today think of video games, they immediately think Xbox or PlayStation. While they are currently enjoying their heyday, back in 1989 Sega Genesis was all the rage.
The last game to formally be made for the Sega Genesis is called Pier Solar and the Great Architects. Development began in 2004 and eventually grew much larger than anticipated. Formally released in 2010, it was not expected to draw nearly as much attention as it did.
The game sold out prior to it's official release date through pre-orders. There was such a large demand, the company that made the game decided to produce a second reprint, which also sold out in 12 days!
