Plants Rights Activists are saying that plants deserve rights just like animals do, because they exhibit certain behaviors that leaves no doubt that they're more than just dumb organisms. For example, some plants can respond to music, other can smell other plants and yet others shrink when they're touched.
A scientist from the University of Western Australia says that plants have some sort of chemical communication between them. They can warn other plants of a predator by releasing a chemical, and in turn, the warned plants release yet other chemicals to make themselves unpalatable to the predator.
Some even say that plants have evolved just as aggressively as animals have in the history of our planet. What do you think, should plants have rights? Read more about this debate at the source.
