A comedian's parents took him to a psychoanalyst, who told him it was his parents who were the problem!

Bill Hicks was an American comedian born in Valdosta, Georgia to Jim and Mary Hicks. He was raised in the Southern Baptist faith and began performing as a comedian for other children at his Sunday School.

Hicks drew inspiration from Woody Allen and Richard Pryor. He would often write routines with his friend Dwight Slade. Even at that early age, comedy pretty much ruled his life.

His parents, worried about his comedic antics, took him to see a psychoanalyst at the age of 17. According to Hicks however, after one session, the psychoanalyst informed him that “…it’s them, not you.”
