The Azerbaijan government spent 1 billion dollars on a song contest!

The republic of Azerbaijan is the largest country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Known for it's wealth of crude oil and natural gas reserves, Azerbaijan is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south. The exclave of Nakhchivan is bounded by Armenia to the north and east, Iran to the south and west, while having a short borderline with Turkey to the northwest.

Azerbaijan is home to a vast variety of landscapes. Over half of Azerbaijan's land mass consists of mountain ridges, crests, yailas, and plateaus which rise up to hypsometric levels of 400–1000 meters p to 100–120 meters, and others from 0–50 meters and up.

However, despite counting with many spectacular things, Azerbaijan water is very salty, and hence not consumable. When people asked the government for help, rather than spending money on clean water, they decided to spend 1 billion dollars on a song contest that really didn’t help the country at all.
