Johnny Depp adopted his horse from Sleepy Hollow because it was going to be put down!
Johnny Depp is known for his eccentric movies roles. He has played odd characters from Captain Jack Sparrow to the Mad Hatter to Willy Wonka. He isn't exactly known for being warm and fuzzy. However, if the way he treats animals is any indication, he does have that side.
After playing one of his crazy roles, Ichabod Crane in "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," he decided to buy the horse that played Gunpowder in the movie. The horse, Goldeneye, was Andalusian and only had one eye. As such, he was headed to the glue factory. In order to save him, Depp bought Goldeneye.
