In 1895, Ohio only had 2 cars!

The first modern automobile was created in the year 1886. It was a Benz Patent-Motorwagen, invented by Carl Benz. However, automobiles only became affordable for many people when the Ford Model T was introduced in 1908. In the gap between those two years, cars were only driven by the elites-and often, very poorly.

In 1895, there were only two cars on the roads of Ohio alongside all those horse-and-buggies and bicycles. As luck would have it, the drivers of these cars crashed into one another. We have come a long way since then however. It was estimated in 2010 that the number of automobiles has risen to over 1 billion vehicles, up from the 500 million in 1986.
