Get back has it's story; it was released as a single on April 11th of 1969. This singles reached number one in the charts of the United Kingdom and many other countries. Also, it was their first single release in true stereo in the US.
The song structure consists of two verses, an intro, outro, and several refrains. The first verse talks about Jojo, who leaves Arizona for some ‘California grass’ while the second verse talks about a sexually ambiguous character named “Loretta Martin”, who “thought she was a woman, but she was another man”.
This song was definitely something new compared to previous Beatles’ songs. In 1980, Lennon revealed that while they were recording the song, Paul McCartney looked at Yoko Ono in the studio every time he sang “Get back to where you once belonged”.
We are truly happy for Lennon who was able to find his true love before his death, however, most of us aren’t and will never be happy with Yoko for destroying and tearing apart the best rock band that has ever existed.
John, Paul, Ringo & George… THANK YOU!
