Marvel created a superhero to get a young boy to wear his hearing aid!
Marvel created a superhero, Blue Ear, who has hearing aids. The character was created in honor of a 4 year old, Anthony Smith, who was hearing impaired, but wouldn't wear his hearing aid. He has no hearing in one ear and minimal hearing in another. Anthony is a major comic book fan.
He started out wearing his hearing aid, but then got depressed and refused to wear it anymore, because "superheroes don't wear blue ears." Him mom was worried and got ahold of Marvel asking for help in the issue. Their response was Blue Ear. Blue Ear is a superhero with hearing aids. Anthony was introduced to the Marvel comic book superhero and was motivated to start using his hearing aids. He was finally proud to use them. Way to go good guy Marvel.
