You might think that Samuel L. Jackson is a total bad-ass when it comes to movies, but did you know he was with the Black power movement back in 1969?After the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., Mr. Jackson flew to Memphis and decided to join and equal rights protest march.
In an interview he revealed that he was angry about Martin Luther King’s assassination and that something had to be done in order for there to be change. He even held members of the Morehouse College board of trustees’ hostage along with many other students! After this action he was charged with a second-degree felony!
However, before he could become involved in any other kind of confrontation, his mother sent him to Los Angeles after the FBI warned her that his life was at risk and that he would die within a year if he remained with the Black Power movement.
