Spain has hosted a very popular Christmas lottery for over two centuries now. The payout it's huge (720 million euros), therefore it is the biggest lottery in the world and pretty much all Spaniards play.
Back in the mid-1970s, a man sought a ticket that ended in 48. Funny thing is that you never hear the number 48 as being someone’s favorite number or lucky charm, so when asked why he was so intent on finding that number, he replied that he dreamt the number seven for seven nights and that seven times seven is 48, therefore making it it's lucky charm.
