It took the inventor of the Rubik's Cube a whole month to solve it!
Erno Rubik is the man responsible for the challenge and/or nuisance that is the Rubik’s Cube. He was both a sculptor and an architect. He spent his free time (while working as professor at the Academy of Applied Art and Design in Budapest) designing puzzles that would make his students think in new ways about 3-dimensional geometry.
Just before his 30th birthday, Rubik created the first prototype for what we know of today as the Rubik’s cube. He spent a month trying to solve it and found that it was a simultaneously fun, fascinating, and frustrating activity. When he handed the cube of to others, they felt the same way.
