We've all heard that 'Coca-Cola used to have high levels of cocaine in it to make people addicted', which may or may not have been true, we don't really know. But, what we do know, is that only two people know the exact formula for making Coca-Cola. However, it is public domain to know that the delicious carbonated beverage gets some of it's flavoring from the same plant that cocaine comes from.
Before getting all worked up, you should know that only ONE company has the permission of the American government to import the Coca plant and use it's resources to produce a beverage. Why? Although it isn't actually stated anywhere, it's safe to assume that Coca-Cola is a multi-billion dollar company that employs hundreds of thousands of people worldwide!
Cocaine comes from the coca plant, and cocaine actually comes from the extraction of certain chemicals off of the coca plant's leaves! However, we don't actually know which PART of the Coca plant Coca-Cola uses, for all we know, it's the leaves, and there is in fact cocaine in our favorite carbonated beverage.
