Warner Bros. made several racist cartoons in the 30s and 40s!

Warner Bros. Is responsible for making dozens of characters, as well as movies, that were the highlight of my childhood. Walt Disney was able to do the exact same thing. What do both of these iconic figures have in common? Well, they both made incredibly racist cartoons that are unable to be viewed by the public. Well, at least that would be the case...if it weren't for the internet.

Almost every racist cartoon that Warner Bros produced had to do with playing with stereotypes of African Americans. For example, in the 1930's and 1940's there were many famous African American jazz musicians, such as Louie Armstrong. Warner Bros.Took advantage of this and made many musicals, revolving around black people playing famous roles, and the musicals consisted entirely of jazz music. One example includes a twist on Goldilocks and the Three Bears - where the three bears were all jazz musicians.

Even BUGS BUNNY was in a racist cartoon. In this particular cartoon, Bugs is being hunted by a black hunter, who has stereotypical facial characteristics, and has a weakness for gambling.
