Vick's inhalers will cause you to test positive for Meth on drug tests!
Vick’s inhalers are traditionally sold over the counter to relieve nasal congestion and for allergies. While they are completely safe, there is an ingredient that will result in positive for meth use on a drug test!
Drug tests are certainly not fool proof, and are usually fairly accurate, yet some chemicals in common medicines are so close to illegal drugs that they show up as the same on a test. The reason Vick’s inhalers can trigger a false positive for meth is because they contain L-methamphetamine, which is extremely similar to traditional street meth which is made up of D-methamphetamine.
The two drugs are so close that one will show up as another unless a specific test is carried out!
