A man carve a 360ft through a mountain so medical assistance could reach his village!
After Dashrath Manjhi's wife died, he set off on a journey to bring proper medical treatment to his village. Manjhi and his wife lived in Bihar, India. His wife died from lack of medical treatment because the closest doctor was 70 km away.
Manjhi didn't want anyone else to suffer as his wife did so he decided to fix the problem. He carved a 360 foot long through-cut through a mountain. It was 25 feet deep and 30 feet wide in places. A road was built here and cut the distance between the towns from 75 km to 1 km. This work took Manjhi 22 years to complete.
