If you go on YouTube and look up crazy wrecks, you’ll likely find a ton from Russia taken by dashcams. It is really odd to Americans that so many Russians have dashcams. Russian roads are perilous.
The country also has insane gridlock in cities and huge ditches, endless swamps, and severe wintry emptiness on the backroads and highways. There are also large lawless areas that you can’t just ride into with people using extortion to get what they want. They are quick to get in a fight if someone cuts them off or make any maneuver that might inconvenience another driver.
It is really hard to press charges for the fights, too. Russian courts won’t accept verbal claims. So, they all install dashcams to record footage of fights and accidents as proof for insurance claims and court claims.
