Danny DeVito is an actor, but he’s also a comedian, director, and producer. He has three children with his wife and actress, Rhea Perlman whom he married in 1982 after living together since 1971.
In 1992, he played The Penguin, a deformed sociopath in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. DeVito was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Batman Returns. The Saturn Awards are annually presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films to honor the top works in those genres.
Ironically, he was also simultaneously nominated for a Razzie Award for the Worst Supporting Actor for the very same role. His performance had a lot of critics, but was overall well received.
He won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his role as a short statured dispatcher Louie De Palma on the ABC and NBC TV show Taxi. Taxi aired from 1978 until 1983. He directs and produces graphic short horror films for his Internet venture "The Blood Factory." He has appeared in several of them, as have friends of his and members of his family.
