The glue that sticks credit cards to paper has a name!
If you’ve ever received a credit card, you’ve probably had it stuck to a piece of paper with some glue that looks, quite frankly, like snot. Well, turns out it’s got an actual name and it’s Fugitive Glue.
It’s quite a remarkable material. It’s a low tack adhesive, which means that it’s easy to remove. It also only creates a minimal residue on the other materials and doesn’t cause much damage to them.
They’re often used for marketing materials, as well as for mailing credit cards. Unlike post-it notes, fugitive glue tends to lose most of it's stickiness after the first application and cannot be reused.
