In the popular film Catch Me If You Can, Leonardo DiCaprio plays real con man Frank Abagnale Jr. Abagnale was one of the most famous imposters in recent history. He assumed no fewer than eight identities including an airline pilot, a doctor, a U.S. Bureau of Prisons agent, and a lawyer.
He escaped police custody twice. Therefore, it seems only natural that Abagnale would make a good film actor. He proved he did when he made an appearance in the very film all about him, Catch Me If You Can.
The real Abagnale played one of the French police officers that take DiCaprio into custody. Abagnale served less than five years in prison for his many cons before he began helping the federal government. He is currently a consultant and lecturer for the FBI academy.
