English model Katie Green, was plucked from obscurity in 2008 to model the Wonderbra. During her stint with Wonderbra, she was voted number 3 on the “Best Bodies” list.
However, when she wanted to book other modeling gigs, she was asked to lose 28 lbs. At the time, she was a size 12 and stood 5’11”. She tried to lose the weight for a week and grew ill. She decided it was crazy, because she was healthy, and quit the modeling industry.
She was then introduced to a company that was campaigning for healthier models and decided to jump back into modeling. She is campaigning for “Say No to Size Zero” which is trying to get models to have mandatory BMI checkups with doctors.
If a model’s BMI is lower than 18 or 15 then she is deemed to be starving herself. The campaign wants to check this out to make sure models are staying in a healthy weight range.
If a model is below a healthy BMI then they are to be banned from modeling. The campaign is all about keeping models healthy and to rid society of unrealistic views of our bodies and weight.(Source)
