There have been numerous doomsday prophecies throughout history, but perhaps none is more ridiculous than the events in 1806. Whether it is Nostradamus or the Mayans, the source is usually credible in some of way, yet this one is completely bizarre.
In 1806, a hen in England began laying eggs that had the phrase “Christ is coming” etched into the side. People heard the news and literally freaked out believing the world was about to end.
It turned out, not surprisingly, the owner of the chicken farm had taken previously laid eggs and etched the phrase into the side with acid and then reinserted them into the oviduct of the hens.
The hoax was eventually dubbed “The Prophet Hen of Leeds” and remains one of the most bizarre apocalypse hoaxes in history!
