There was a 3 eyed man who was seen in Columbia until the early 1990s.

From the 1950’s the 1990’s, a triclopse roamed the streets of Columbia. Reportedly, it was first seen by students who were walking near the Long Street Theater late one evening when they saw a gray faced man wearing a silver suit, remove a manhole cover and descend into the sewer.

He was seen again a few years later, this time by a policeman. He discovered a man in silver near the remains of mutilated chickens. When he shone his flashlight at the figure, he was more than a little bit startled to see a third eye upon the man’s head. By the time other police officers arrived at the scene, the man had vanished.

The man was reported to being seen in the steam tunnels under the University of South Carolina. No physical evidence of the man (or whatever it was) was ever discovered.
