A Roman poem was so vulgar it wasn’t translated until the late 20th century! What was the poem?
The poem was written by Catullus, a very famous Roman poet. This particular poem, entitled Catullus 16 was so vulgar that nobody translated it until the late twentieth century! The first line of the poem has been declared “one of the filthiest expressions ever written in Latin – or in any other language, for that matter.”
