Mongol tradition dictates that the youngest son inherits his father’s property at death!

Mongol tradition gives the eldest son part of the family wealth once he is married and the remaining part goes to the youngest son once the parents pass away. This is pretty different from most other ethnic group traditions. Usually the eldest receives all the inheritance and the youngest is at their mercy.

As is the case with many cultures, the Mongolian family was strongly patrilineal; but, the home was devised of the immediate and extended family members. Interestingly, though, premarital sex is common among the Mongolian herders and birth control is discouraged. They are traditional in many ways, but they stray in some areas from the norms of other Asian cultures.
