The first Olympic Gold Medalist in snowboarding briefly lost it because he tested positive for marijuana!

Ross Rebagliati is from Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada and became a professional snowboarder in 1991. He won the first men’s gold medal in Olympic Snowboarding at the 1998 Winter Olympics.

After he won gold, he was found to have THC in his system and was automatically disqualified. Eventually the decision was overturned mostly because marijuana wasn’t on the list of banned substances. His medal was then returned to him.

Rebagliati filed suit against a Canadian TV channel charging them with misappropriation of personality, breach of privacy, and defamation. He claimed the channel created a show with a character based off of him without his permission.

The suit was settled out of court. In 2009, he ran for the federal Liberal Party nomination in British Columbia. He later formally stepped down from nomination. It is now unknown was Ross Rebagliati is doing, but his political aspirations have ceased for the time being.
