More than 200 marijuana plants were found in a store within a west Miami-Dade Mall of Americas. The hydroponics lab within it really flimsy wiring that could have easily caught the whole mall on fire. The DEA found the growing stash on the second floor over a 400 square-foot- area. The marijuana was up to six feet tall. The room was air conditioned and had camera surveillance.
The pot could be harvested four times a year and therefore millions of dollars worth of it were found. It was worth about $3,500 per pound. Nobody had been arrested and there was no explanation as to how they came across the huge grow-house. The whole crop was in a storage room quietly making tons of money without anyone suspecting. It was a pretty ingenious spot to put the crop, but highly unsafe with jimmy-rigged electricity.
